Manual
This manual is for the people who make and look after a website with q.e.d.: no programming needed, and no need to know how websites work inside. The same pages are in the app: the Manual button at the top right opens them in a window of their own, so you can read them offline, next to what you're doing. The manual is in English and German; Language of the manual in the App tab picks one (automatically your computer's).
- Before you start: what you need (and what you don't).
- Getting started: install q.e.d., make or open a site, find your way around, look at the result.
- Pages and blocks: write pages and posts, build them from blocks, columns and sections, link them.
- Icons: the icons for text and menus, and your own.
- Pictures and files: add photos and logos, files to download, and files the website needs as they are.
- Site settings: title, language, web address, logo, search and page width.
- Menus: the main and footer menus, made by themselves or by hand.
- Colors and fonts: a theme, where its colors go, fonts, and colors of your own.
- Versions: every save is kept; go back to an earlier state of a page or of the whole site.
- Backups: keep a copy of the site on another computer, and work on it from two computers.
- Publishing: put the website on your webspace.
- Podcasts: episodes, the people in them, audio and feeds.
- AI assistants: let an assistant such as Claude write and change pages for you, with q.e.d.'s rules.
- Moving a site over: from another computer or another system, keeping old addresses working.
- License and credits: q.e.d. is free software, your content stays yours, and the parts from others. Also where to report bugs.
- Libraries: every library q.e.d. is built from, with its version and license.
Screenshots in this manual show the app with its catppuccin-mocha theme (App → Theme of the q.e.d. app), so they look the same throughout.
